The questions we get — and the ones we should be asked.
If you can't find your answer, write to us. We answer everything, even the questions people are usually too embarrassed to ask.
The product and the results
No, and that's deliberate.
Joy Pretty doesn't lighten, whiten or bleach. What it does: it removes the layer of dead skin, dullness and dryness that builds up and hides your natural color.
What you see afterward is your color — revealed, not changed. If your lips are naturally dark, they'll stay dark. They'll simply be cleaner, smoother and more alive.
We'll never make a product that promises to change your color. That's a red line for us.
Four things in one step: it deep-cleans (including long-wear lipstick), gently exfoliates with an enzyme, hydrates, and leaves your lips looking cleaner and smoother.
For texture — smoother, suppler lips — you may feel a difference from the first use.
Joy Pretty doesn't change your color: it works on texture and comfort.
And it varies from person to person. We'd rather tell you that than promise a timeline we can't guarantee.
The mechanism is simple: an enzyme helps lift flakes, humectants hold water in, and panthenol helps lips feel soft and comfortable. Nothing magic.
What we won't do: throw made-up percentages at you. You may see brands claim "+98% hydration." Until we have a study we can show you, we quote no numbers.
And if it doesn't work for you, you're refunded — even with an opened bottle.
Neither. A scrub exfoliates by friction, which is harsh on thin lips. A balm hydrates the surface without removing anything.
Joy Pretty exfoliates with an enzyme — no rubbing — then hydrates. That's why it replaces both.
No. It isn't a volumizing gloss and it doesn't change the shape of your lips. It leaves them hydrated, smooth and free of flakes, and results vary.
Skin, complexions, sensitivities
Yes — it's actually the use case the product was designed for first.
Joy Pretty works on texture: your lips will feel smoother, look cleaner and feel suppler — and they'll stay your color. Results vary from person to person.
Which is exactly right. That's not what we're trying to change.
Yes. The routine is the same for every skin tone: lift flakes, hydrate, soften.
We say the product was designed first for dark lips because that's the audience we found most poorly served. It doesn't mean it's reserved for them.
In principle yes, because we don't exfoliate by friction. But if you're very reactive, start every other day for a week and see how your lips respond.
Do a patch test in the crook of your elbow 24 h before if you have a history of cosmetic allergy.
Joy Pretty contains papain, an enzyme from papaya. Don't use it if you're allergic to papaya or latex, and stop using it if irritation occurs.
Wait until it's healed. On an open or cracked lip, the product can sting and slow the repair.
Once it's closed, you can start again: Joy Pretty helps keep lips feeling soft and comfortable.
Usage
Three steps.
1. Apply a thin layer on clean lips. It foams on its own in three seconds.
2. Let it sit, then gently massage with your fingertips for a minute.
3. Rinse with lukewarm water or wipe with a damp tissue.
Once a day is enough. In the morning after you brush your teeth, it becomes an easy habit to keep.
If your lips are very sensitive, start every other day.
Yes. Smooth, hydrated lips make a cleaner base for lipstick.
Wait until your lips are dry, a minute or two.
About a month at one use a day (8 g bottle). That's why the subscription exists — but nothing forces you to take it.
Composition
Three main actives.
Papain, an enzyme from papaya, which helps lift flakes without rubbing.
Seaweed extracts, which hold water in and help keep lips supple.
Panthenol, also called vitamin B5, which helps lips feel soft and comfortable.
The full ingredient list is on the packaging and the product page.
No parabens, no sulfates, no plastic microbeads, no harsh synthetic fragrance.
And no color-changing agent — that's the one point we'll never compromise on.
No. Joy Pretty isn't tested on animals.
